3) Loosen and unscrew adjusting cone and axle end until they are free from main axle.

*Both hub shell bearing assemblies can now be accessed. For bearing service information see “Service of the bearings”, Chris King Precision Components ISO Manual, pg. 17.

REASSEMBLY WITH PDXTI CHRIS KING ISO SD 12mm CONVERSION KIT

1) Lightly grease threads on PHB702 adjusting clamp. Chris King recommends applying two drops of Tri-flow™ to axle O-ring.
2) Insert the PDXTI-CKPC-12-15-TA-AXLE into the hubshell from the disc mount side.
3) Thread the PHB702 adjusting clamp onto the protruding threads of the axle on the non-disc mount side.
4) Snug the adjusting clamp up to the bearing.
5) Use a 2.5mm hex wrench to tighten the adjusting clamp hex bolt to 10 inch-pounds. Check for play or binding and readjust if needed.

CHRIS KING ISO SD 15mm TA HUB DISASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS (from Chris King Precision Components ISO Manual, pg. 7)

1) Remove the hub from the fork. Remove the disc brake rotor.
2) Insert a 2.5mm hex wrench into adjusting clamp hex bolt, and loosen.
3) With adjusting clamp facing towards you, hold opposite end of axle stationary, and rotate clamp in a counter clockwise direction to unscrew it from the thru-axle. If adjusting clamp is difficult to remove, insert a 2.5mm hex key into “helper hole” on adjusting clamp adjacent to 2.5mm hex bolt. Use the hex key as a lever to unscrew adjusting clamp. Note: 15mm SD hubs feature a steel axle end cap that will pop off of axle end as adjusting clamp is unthreaded from axle.
4) Remove the axle from the hubshell.

*Both hub shell bearing assemblies can now be accessed. For bearing service information see “Service of the bearings”, Chris King Precision Components ISO Manual, pg. 17.

NOTES:
- Re-assemble your Chris King ISO SD front hub with the PDXTI-CKPC-12-15-TA-AXLE assembled as shipped.

- A thin layer of high quality grease on the outside of the 12mm thru axle are recommended for ease of assembly and to provide an extra moisture barrier.

- Compatible with all 12mm x 100mm forks.

- Compatible with only with Chris King ISO SD front hubs; reduces the diameter of the axle ends, which must be 20mm or smaller. Stock Chris King ISO SD 15mm axle end caps are oversize and not compatible with most 12mm Thru Axle forks.

- Thru axles provide compression of the fork ends where the hub end caps interface with the fork ends. Because all hubs and forks are manufactured by third parties to differing tolerances, to ensure an interference-free fit with all possible combinations the length of the PDXTI 12-15-TA Adapter is just under 100mm.
