// ABOUT US //

PDXTI Race Team was established in 2015 when a trio of veteran cyclists teamed up with Portland-based REN Cycles to provide long term product testing and race day verification of their titanium bicycles.

Since then our simple mission--"excellence in outdoor recreation"--has guided our authentic celebrations of our sport including our efforts to showcase the most excellent bikes, components, gear and apparel that we have sought through our valued partner relationships.

We are lovers of mountain and road, pioneers of gravel and adventure and champions of cyclocross, who, as veterans of the cycling community in Oregon are also engaged as coaches, volunteers and mentors, regularly demonstrating our leadership through individual and combined efforts to "spread the stoke," grow cycling and strengthen our community in responsible ways.

Our Sponsors & Partners

REN Cycles, Elevator Coffee, RADHAUS PDX, Smith Optics, Eliel Cycling, Schwalbe Tires, Gevenalle, HiFi Wheels, TRP Cycling, Issi Pedals, Dumonde Tech and our local retailer of choice, River City Bicycles.

We are incredibly thankful.

MAX RITZOW // CX / GRAVEL

Born to bike racers and raised in a bike shop, Max has a connection to two wheels woven into his DNA. After finishing on the podium at the 2017 USA Cycling Road National Championships, Max spent the month of July in Belgium sampling frites and chocolate granola and racing road bikes with the U.S. Junior National Cycling Team development program on the side. All those carbs would pay off promptly upon returning to the US when Max owned the Northwest Juniors Classic Stage Race in his age category, landing on the podium in Criterium, Road Race, Time Trial and General Classification, with an outright win in the latter two. The freshest legs on the team!

MITCHELL TRUX // CX / ROAD / MTB / GRAVEL

Mitch is a California native who grew up riding mountain bikes in the Sierra Nevada and has a long history of road and cyclocross racing. He once beat Mario Cippolini in a sprint finish in a Las Vegas criterium and he out-pedaled Floyd Landis in the grueling Nevada City Cycling Classic—after he “won” the Tour de France.

In his 15th season as a competitive bike racer, he says he’s determined to participate in the bicycling community as much as he can, out of habit…

“Perpetuating bicycling is one of the best things I can do with my time. Bikes make me a happier healthier human and they have the power to make the world a happier healthier place.”

Mitch gets pumped on wheelies, getting lost in the woods and coaching Portland’s first NICA team, Portland Metro Composite, which he founded in 2018.

In 2019, Mitch is most looking forward to another podium at Cyclocross Nationals.

Code Name: Monster Trux // @mdtrux

NOTABLES:

  • In Portland, Mitch is a regular podium finisher in the Elite field of the Portland Short Track series, the Portland Trophy Cup series, Grand Prix Cyclocross series and the coveted Cyclocross Crusade series. In 2018 he finished on the overall podium for each series.

  • Bronze medal finisher in the 2017 USA Cycling’s Cyclocross National Championships (35+).

  • On a mountain bike, Mitch is a Six Hours of Mt. Hood Solo Champion and a Leadville 100 “Big Belt Buckle” finisher.

  • On a road bike, Mitch is a Pro/Cat 1 finisher of Tour of The Gila, Cascade Cycling Classic and Mt Hood Cycling Classic. He won a UCI Kermesse in West Flanders, Belgium, and he was Collegiate Road National Champion (UC Davis).

  • He is also a podium finisher in Bay Area Super Prestige Cyclocross, Sacramento Cyclocross Series and Super Pro Cyclocross series events in California and MFG Cyclocross series events in Washington state.
