NON-STANDARD PACKAGING

To the fullest extent possible all product packaging and shipping materials are re-used plastic and paper products. For instances where second use packaging is impractical or unavailable recycled paper products are used to the fullest extent possible.

It is an unfortunate fact that global rates of fuel consumption and production of virgin plastic continue to increase annually yet we have seen virtually no substantial gains in recycling capacity for decades. Only 9% of plastic is recycled globally and wildly, recent times have seen decreases or even total abandonment of household plastics recycling programs.

The sad fact is that plastics were never intended to be recycled in the first place; the entire concept of plastic recycling was fabricated as a smoke screen by the plastics industry to deceive consumers and derail attempts to decrease plastic waste through regulation. This consumer fraud is now well documented, including a recent PBS Frontline investigation and report.

Statistically almost every single piece plastic bag, film, and wrapper our consumer products are distributed in gets a single use before being dumped in a hole in the ground or incinerated. Beyond the obvious issues of air pollution, soil degradation, groundwater contamination, and the poisoning of wildlife, landfills are spaces that generally become undesirable for recreation, agriculture, wilderness, community development, or any other purpose than dumping trash. Every watt of energy that goes into producing single-use virgin plastic has its own carbon footprint, and its disposal (or lack thereof) has had an immeasurable impact on our lands, waterways, and oceans.

Thank you for considering re-use of any packaging, and to the fullest extent possible recycling what is not suitable for re-use.
